Despite this, The Notwist stands on its own as a thrashy and punky record with flailing drums, fun singalongs, and screaming guitar solos. Opener "Is It Fear? Overall, it's a fun record, if fairly generic. The bulk of the album passes with a few memorable hooks, but nothing that would make it stand out from other hard rock records that were being made in Recommended only for the super-hardcore Notwist fans.

  3. The Notwist is one of my favorite bands, this is there first of 4 cd's they released. I started listening to them on there release of 12, an indie/post-rock album with very catchy melodies. This album however is very Heavy, it sounds like a clash between the old Metallica albums and the old Dinosaur Jr. albums.4/5(4).
